Conspiracy Theories

I think there's a conspiracy to keep people interested in conspiracies.

Conspiracy theorists give people and groups of people too much credit for maintaining a mutual secret or for that matter being loyal to each other, especially in connection with "evil conspirators" and Machiavellian schemes that span more than a person's lifetime or term in office. It's extremely unlikely, especially over a period of centuries. Plans of greed and power are seldom established or sustained as a legacy for the following generations. That would be a contradiction in terms.

Greed, lust and selfishness are not good bedfellows with loyalty, faithfulness and honour. Unfortunately the former are natural examples of sinful human nature. History has shown that "evil empires", secret or not, eventually end in destruction.

A typical example of a Conspiracy Theory widely held as truth and fully based on lies and slander: ... "the Jewish bankers rule the world" (foundational premise for Hitler's 'Mein Kampf') - This particular claim is still circulated by the moronic fringe and although once a notion held just by the anti-semetic is now making it's way (again) into the mainstream! Unfortunately, this evil notion although seemingly banal has resulted in the widespread mistreatment of an entire race of people.

Conspiracy Theories are increasingly, it seems, a ridiculous distraction for many. So much so that reality is often not recognized even when it's slapping one square in the face.

"For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (AMP)

... another sobering quotation:

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. 2 Peter 2:1-3 (NIV)

Beware of slanderous theories, popular "stories" and myths. Like viral sickness, they carry death in them. Truth is freely available. It's no secret.
